Join ChIPWG at Chewacla State Park to remove invasive thorny olive and help restore native habitat. Open to up to 75 volunteers.
Native forests like Chewacla’s are increasingly crowded out by fast-spreading invasives such as thorny olive, which shade out seedlings and strip away the habitat that birds, pollinators, and other wildlife depend on. Every volunteer day directly beats back that spread, giving native plants room to reestablish and keeping the park’s ecosystem resilient for the wildlife and communities who rely on it.
In the event of rain, this workday will be moved to Saturday, October 10th.
